Why 66 days?
The "21 days to form a habit" idea is a myth. A study from University College London (Lally et al., 2009) followed people building new daily habits and found it took 66 days on average for a habit to feel automatic, with a wide range depending on the person and the habit.
The good news from the same study: missing a day now and then didn't stop the habit from forming. Consistency over perfection.
The three keystone habits
- Move 20 minutes. Easy enough to do on bad days too.
- Read 10 pages. A little every day adds up to many books.
- Plan tomorrow in 2 minutes. Write down tomorrow's top three.
With Momentum Pro you can swap them for your own habits and keep the 66-day structure.
